GUNNARY CHIEF ASHLEY WILLIAMS
 |
Ashley Williams was an Alliance
trooper stationed on Eden Prime when it was attacked by the
Geth. After losing her patrol to a Geth ambush, Ashley elected to
join Shepard's crew and help her hunt down those
responsible. Born on April 14th 2158, Ashley Madeline Williams
comes from a large family that includes a long line of Alliance
soldiers. Her father was an enlisted man and she is the oldest of
four daughters in the family, followed by Abby, Lynn, and Sarah.
Because of her father's frequent deployments, she helped to raise
her sisters and the four siblings were close to each other.
Following her family tradition, Ashley enlisted in the Alliance
Marines after high school and was assigned to the Recruit Training
Depot in Macapá, Brazil. She was awarded a commendation for her bold
assault technique in a field exercise simulating an attack on turian
point defense emplacements. Drill Instructor Gunnery Chief Ellison
noted her steadfast endurance and aggressive instincts, and promoted
her to the role of squad leader, and subsequently, as platoon guide
after observing her effective tutelage of the less skilled members
of her training unit. Her platoon has logged unanimous positive
feedback on her leadership in the recent fitness review cycle.
Private Nirali Bhatia praised her focus on team-building exercises
and "tough but fair" discipline. Ashley provided invaluable assistance to
Shepard's mission, most notably on Eden Prime and Virmire. Her
leadership of the Salarian Assault team on Virmire meant that
Shepard was able to infiltrate the base and plant the bomb.
Unfortunately, Ashley lost her life during the mission. Her
dedication and straightforward attitude were an asset to the
mission.
“Why is it whenever someone says 'with all due
respect' they really mean 'kiss my ass'?”

GARRUS VAKARIAN Garrusis a turian and a C-Sec
officer who was put
in charge of investigating Saren after Shepard's accusation.
However, Garrus found himself hampered at every turn; as a Spectre,
most of Saren's activities were classified, and it was nearly
impossible to get any solid evidence. He appealed to Executor Pallin
for more time, but Pallin, seeing only that Garrus had not found any
evidence of Saren's guilt, ordered the investigation over and
reported that there was nothing to support a charge of treason.
However, Garrus had one lead and just needed more time to look into
it. He decided to pursue it on his own. After crossing paths with
Shepard in her own investigation and helping her track down the
neccisary evidence Garrus became disenchanted with C-Sec and red
tape, and elected to join Shepard on her quest. After Shepard was reported dead,
Garrus disappeared and even the Illusive Man with his vast resources
could not discover his whereabouts. When Shepard arrived on Omega to
recruit the vigilante Archangel, she was pleasantly surprised to
find Garrus. He re-joined the Normandy's crew and his skill with a
sniper rifle was invaluable to Shepard's mission.
“The Collectors killed you once and all that did
was piss you off. I can’t imagine they’ll stop you this
time.”

JACK Jack, also known as
"Subject Zero", is a notorious criminal whose crimes include piracy,
kidnapping, vandalism and murder. She is also a biotic, possibly one
of the most powerful human biotics alive, and considered so
dangerous she was kept in stasis after she was caught. She grew up
in a Cerberus facility where she was brutally experimented on in an
attempt to unlock biotic potential. After her escape she fell into
a life of crime and took the name Jack. She is a feirce, outspoken,
tough-ass soldier and a powerful biotic. She was also a regular
member of Shepard's ground team during her missions. Despite
her anti-social nature, Shepard and her were close. Unfortunately, Jack was
killed in the assault on the collector base. She is very sorely
missed. “Turns out, mess with someone's head enough, you can
turn a scared little kid into an all powerful bitch.”

JACOB TAYLOR Jacob was born in 2157 and eventually joined
the Alliance military. After a time, Jacob became
disillusioned with the ineffectual bureaucracy of the politicians
and quit the Alliance. Later that year, Jacob enlisted with Cerberus
for a chance to serve humanity without too much to hold him back,
although he remains cautious of some of the organisation's more
ruthless measures.
Shortly after the destruction of the
first Normandy, Miranda hired Jacob as her 'lieutenant' in
the Lazarus Cell. Despite the fact he works for Cerberus,
Commander Shepard still greatly respects Jacob because he is upfront about his
views on Cerberus's shadier ethics. He has told the Illusive Man
that he will work with him so long as the mission does not turn to
anything questionable which is similar to Shepard's agreement with
The Illusive Man.

JEFF "JOKER" MORAEU Born in
2155, Joker's upbringing and career have been colored by his health.
Joker has a moderate to severe case of Vrolik syndrome, which causes
extreme brittleness in the bones; he was born with severe fractures
to his legs and even with modern medicine he finds walking nearly
impossible, relying on crutches and leg braces. Joker spent his
early life on Arcturus Station because of his mother's job there as
a civilian contractor, and grew up around ships. When he was old
enough to enlist, he joined the Alliance Navy. He got his nickname
from flight school instructor, due to the fact that he rarely
smiled—he was working too hard. By the end of his training, however,
Joker surpassed the other students and even his instructors.
Despite the fact that he
is continually making wisecracks, Joker takes his job very seriously. Joker's piloting skills
were instrumental in many missions, and on more than one occasion have
saved The Commander's life
. He has complete faith in Commander Shepard's leadership
and the two of them share a good camaraderie. He is often the first
of the crew to pick himself up and look forward after hardship, and
his contributions to team moral have gotten the crew of the Normandy
through many difficult situations.
“I’m not
good. I’m not even great. I’m the best damn helmsman in the Alliance
fleet.”

LIARA T'SONI Dr. Liara T'Soni
is an asari researcher who has spent the past fifty years of her
life studying Prothean technology and culture, specialising in the
Prothean extinction. She was born in 2077, making her "only" 106 —
little more than a child in asari terms — when she mets Shepard.
After learning Liara was Matriarch Benezia's daughter, Commander
Shepard searched for Liara to discover what, if anything, she knew.
She eventually discovered her suspended in an energy field at a dig
site on Therum, a mining world in the Knossos system. Liara
wasn't with the Normandy for long, but her powerful biotics and
expertise on The Protheans were valuable assets to the Normandy
crew. After Shepard
was revived, she met Liara again on Illium, and discovered that she
had become a very powerful and well connected information broker.
She was busy with personal quests and could not re-join the
Normandy's crew.
“I will flay you...
With my mind.”

MIRANDA LAWSON Miranda was born in 2150.
Her father is extremely influential, wealthy, and ego-maniacal.
Using a modified copy of his own genome, Miranda was genetically
engineered to be a specimen of human perfection. Everything, from
her intelligence, physical constitution, biotic abilities, to her
appearance were designed before birth to be excellent. Miranda also
heals faster than other humans and will probably live half a
lifespan longer. She is currently working as an operative for
Cerberus, and is a strong beleiver in their principles, which often
put her and Shepard at odds.

TALI'ZORAH VAS NEEMA NAR RAYYA Tali'Zorah was a quarian mechanical genius and a
talented operative. She joined Commander Shepard on the
 |
Citadel when she provided the
crucial evidence against Saren in the form of an audio recording she
had recovered from a geth's hard-drives. Tali was born in 2161 aboard the Rayya. In her
childhood, Tali's proper name was Tali'Zora nar Rayya, named after
the ship she was born on. After her pilgrimage, she took the name
Tali'Zorah vas Neema, after the ship which she joined. She has been
known to refer to herself as Tali'Zorah vas Normandy while travelling
with Commander Shepard, a sign of the great respect for her
Commander. When she first met Shepard, Tali was on her Pilgrimage, a
rite of passage to prove her worth and bring something of value back
to her people aboard the Migrant Fleet. After Shepard's death, Tali
returned to the Migrant fleet, completing her pilgrimage. They
crossed paths again after Shepard was revived and Tali re-joined the
Normandy, her technological expertise instrumental in Shepard's
mission against the Collectors.
Unfortunately Tali lost her life on the
assault on The Collector's base. She was a brilliant technician and
a brave and fierce warrior, and is sorely missed. “Our
Pilgrimage proves we are willing to give of ourselves for the
greater good. What does it say about me if I turn my back on
this?”

URDNOT WREX Urdnot Wrex
crossed paths with Shepard on the Citadel when he was contracted to
take down a criminal whom Shepard was also after. He was impressed
with Shepard's skills and battle ethic and decided to travel with
her in her quest to hunt down Saren. A famed krogan mercenary
and bounty hunter, Urdnot Wrex is also one of the last
Krogan Battlemasters: rare individuals who combine powerful
biotic abilities with the devastating fire-power of advanced weaponry.
A long-lived krogan who has had many adventures, Wrex heard of
Commander Shepard on his travels, and respected the Commander as a
fellow warrior. Despite his chosen path
of violence and merc work, Wrex is deeply concerned with the fate
of his people after the genophage, and is one of the few planning for
a new krogan future. During her fight against Saren and the Geth,
Wrex was a regular part of Shepard's ground-team and a valued comrade. It
was a testament to their friendship, and how greatly they
respected each other that Shepard was able to convince him that
destroying Saren's research into curing the genophage was necessary. After
Shepard died, Wrex returned to the Krogan home world of Tuchanka and
attempted to unite his people and focus on breeding to assure Krogan
survival. After Shepard was revived, a few of her missions took her
to Tuchanka, where she was re-united with Wrex, but he was too busy
focussing on his own people to re-join her crew. “Anyone who
fights us is either stupid or on Saren's payroll. Killing the latter
is business. Killing the former is a favour to the universe.”
