NLP Master Practitioner & Trainer
The 3 primary uses of NLP are:
There are many more uses for NLP, however those listed are the ones that people find themself using most frequently. Perhaps the most undervalued but commonly used application of NLP is for personal development. Many people attent NLP related workshops and trainings (such as those provided by Andrew Cownie) with no thought of using the techniques with anyone but themself. In this way people often find that their outlook on life has changed to a more positive one, and that they can better deal with their emotions, better articulate themselves, and understand the motivations and conflicts of themself and others.
Consisting of many techniques, NLP can assist with a wide variety of issues. Here are some issues, and some ways in which NLP techniques can help overcome them.
| Issue | NLP Technique |
|---|---|
| Emotional Outbursts | Using various timeline therapy techniques (based on Fritz Perlz's Gestalt therapy) eliminate the root cause of the emotional issue and the unconscious need to cause more emotional events to learn from. |
| Phobias | Treat phobias by collapsing the emotional anchor to the phobia stilumus, and add resource anchor to neutral state. |
| Confidence Issues | Utilise resource anchors and mapping across metaprograms, so build on confidence from other situations and areas of life, to the areas that have confidence issues. Remove fear of the unknown using timelike techniques |
| Unwanted Habits | Change submodalities of habit stimuli and remove secondary gain through integrating parts or new behaviour generator. |
| Feeling Stuck | Align values in areas of life to gain insight into areas for improvement. Utilise neuro-logical levels to stimulate resources, and reframing to change focus from negatives to positives. Focus on PAW limiting beliefs to stimulate more options. |
| Fear of Public Speaking | Remove emotional charge from past experiences using Visual / Kinesthetic Dissociation. Chain anchors to build a confident state and remove any anxiety. Circle of excellence to build resourceful state. |
NLP can benefit many people in their personal lives, not only those with issues, but also people who want to achieve better results in their areas of expertise. Many of the NLP skills are useful in everyday life such as advanced communication skills, planning skills, emotional control, reframing negatives to positives, and many more help create a more useful outlook on life's circumstances.
In professional life, NLP can help those in many therapeutic modalities. Many therapists who help people with physical issues find that their patients also have emotional issues that they unequiped to help with, and so add NLP to their reportiore. Any professional in training and development will find NLP extremely helpful as the NLP training skills assist them to better communicate with their students, allowing them to adjust their style to suit particular students, and also to incorporate hypnotic language so that students absorb the content unconsciously (without being aware that they are).
Life Coaching has become a widely accepted profession in the past 10 or so years. Life Coaches trained in NLP can not only help their clients when things are going great, but also help them to overcome obstacles to achieving their goals in record time using NLP techniques. In fact many certified Life Coaches go on to study NLP, only to realize that they have learned more useful skills in NLP that their coaching certification.
