• Search for: “Online multimedia"

  Comments: There was a large number of results obtained as my search was not clearly defined. The syntax was too simple, therefore the results were also excessive. The information which i gathered from here was not explicitly refering to my certain topic, therfore I did not obtain as much information as I needed.

• Search for: “p2p file sharing"

  Comments: Using yahoo search engine again I refined my serach and I added a certain section of the topic of Online Multimedia. The results hits have decreased due to a more specific choice of key words in the search engine. Although the results have minimised it has been easier for me to find information regarding the topic which I am discussing in the essay.

  Comments: I used the Yahoo Search engine again to refine my search. This time I chose a specific part of my essay which I'll be talking about to find information. My search was successful as I found the information which I required.

  Comments: The CSU proquest database is a valuable resource which helps users allocate recent articles in relation to a desired topic in a journal format. This resource helped in finding ethical issues in regards to peer to peer file transfer in today's society.

  Comments: This is a refinement of the previous search and although more hits were obtained they were extremely relevent to my search.

  Comments: This is also another refinement of my previous search. In this serach I was relating to a topic which I am discussing in my essay. The articles which I found in this search which helped me with the statistics of online multimedia industry.

  Comments: I decided to use a google search engine as it has a higher capability and many more resources to provide me with the information I need. The results which I was provided me were usefull but the serach was too broad, therefore I was provided with information which was ineffective and useless.

• Search for: “file OR sharing, OR p2p, OR Kazaa”

The number of reults have minimised for the reason that I used greater keywordswith my search. For this search I used a very handy option of not searching the entire web, only one domain. I decided to add the word "OR" after each keyword so the search results would be related to my discussion. I found the results effective and usefull.

• Search for: “CD sales in 2004 vs 2003"

  Comments: This search was very usefull as it provided me with stastics in regards to peer to peer file transfer. Although there was a large number of results obtained I only read the ones on the first page as the rest of the results were not related to my search.

• Search for: "Peer to peer online file sharing"

  Comments: For this search I chose an alternate option of searching for news articles only, excluding all other websites. The results display how much this minimised the search. I found a coupel of recent newspaper articles which helped me find ethical issues in regards to the topic I was discussing.

• Search for: “file sharing copyright"
  Search Engine: Altavista
  Number of hits: 10,900,000
  Address: http://www.altavista.com/web/results?itag=ody&q=file+sharing+copyright&kgs=1&kls=0
  Comments: I used a different search engine to vary my search and to locate information which I could not gather from the other search engines. I found Altavista the most usefull search engine because it provided resources and articles in relation to the topic, although the result hits were high most my information was gathered from here.
