Assessment & Reporting

HOLISTIC APPROACH PEDEGOGY BEHAVIOUR MANAGEMENT LEADERSHIP ASSESSMENT & REPORTING REFLECTION ABOUT MYSELF

The growth and development of students must be monitored through assessing the
progress made by each individual. The regular reporting of progress made can
identify particular aspects that need improving for certain students. Allowing
for adjustments to be made in certain learning areas.

Assessing students requires strict criteria to compare each student with. The
criteria must be broad and incorporate each aspect of the desired learning aims.
Formal and informal assessments both summative and formative need to be undertaken
to achieve a holistic view of the students’ capabilities.

Appropriate feedback to the students allows them to create personal aims and
try to achieve their own expectations of themselves. Feedback of their progress
also encourages students to continue progressing in order to receive further
positive feedback.

Effective teachers need to be able to report what the students have achieved,
what they know and what areas need further improvements. An individual’s improvements
need also to be compared to that of the rest of the class doing the same activities
to ensure the progress made is at the correct pace.
