Task 2
Pedagogy is the base building block of the art and profession of teaching. It is important to utilize the resources that schools have; using the river means that the type of teaching must be specific to this context in which the students are learning. The students will learn from what they can see, touch and manipulate. This is the advantage of using the river. Four key learning areas have been molded to fit their important resource which shows that teaching pedagogy has been used effectively in relation to the river.
To be an effective teacher they must understand what is involved in teaching
and must have the students learning capacity as major priority. The team
teacher’s
have achieved and maintained an appropriate pedagogy by presenting the curriculum
in an organised, specific, relevant way which aids the students learning
as much as possible
Pedagogical practice needs to be used every day as it is applicable to many
different contexts and is the base of the different teaching strategies.
The use of the
multiple learning paths (science, IT, Maths, English and HSIE)
are an indicator of effective pedagogy, these learning paths are decided
in
relation to the needs, capacities and interests of their students and should
be suited to the rivers learning aspects.
The fact that the school has a river is a huge advantage; I think it’s
very important that they have developed an ongoing integrated curriculum
program to utilize the river. The development and continuation of such teaching
requires
a stable understanding of what pedagogy involves. Pedagogy is the foundation
for the branches of education and teaching strategies.
