Research interests and positions

  • Currently working with CSIRO, Sustainable Ecosystems, Townsville to identify and define sustainable futures for Northern Australia.
  • Senior environmental scientist with Natural Resource Assessments  to work in a range of ecological projects. Work included river rehabilitation, stream management planning, mine site rehabilitation, fauna surveys, habitat monitoring, and conservation planning.
  • Postdoc research: "Adaptive development of environmental flow protocolls on the basis of indicator organisms"
  • PhD: " Ecology of forest dwelling bats (Microchiroptera) in the western slopes of the Australian Alps"
  • General: Integrating ecological capacity with land use to achieve ESD.
  • Specific:
    • integrating biophysical and socio-economic information for future land use scenarios
    • applying ecology to natural resource management
    • habitat preferences of animals
    • relations of animals and habitat structure
    • implementation of GIS and remote sensing in nature conservation research
