My Education

School
St Patricks Parish School I started Kindergarten in 1988, as a travelled through school there were always 2 classes of 27-30 students each year. I value the education this school gave me. There are several areas of content that I learnt here that many of my peers at the local public schools did not receive. One of these areas was grammar, in lower primary; my teachers made sure we all had a firm grounding in Grammar.
Socially I did not enjoy my schooling here as I had few friends. But perhaps this social exclusion allowed my faith to develop strongly in me as a child because of the hardships.

Monaro High School Esther and I on the oval After completing Year 6 I was given the option of attending a public of private high school and I opted for the public high school. I started year 7 in 1995 in a year group of 140 odd students. I enjoyed high school much more than primary as I had a greater anonymity, it took me till mid yr 8 to learn everyone's name.
Monaro High School offered many electives throughout my High School time. The elective I completed in year 8 was German, I didn't enjoy this very much as with the little knowledge I had from my parents I knew that the German being taught was not very accurate.
The electives I took in Year 9 and 10 were:
  • Computer Studies
  • Technics (woodwork)
  • Art
  • Geography
After year 10 I took a year off school to travel to Germany. I then returned to complete year 11 and 12 in 2000/2001. The subjects I elected to take through to my HSC were:
  • English (standard)
  • Maths (2 unit)
  • Geography
  • German (Continuers) distance
  • Community and Family Studies
  • Work Studies
University
Southern Cross Univeristy I attended Southern Cross University in Coffs Harbour for a period of one year in 2002. Here I was studying Technology Education. Technology Education was a newly created course with the purpose of creating TAS teachers.
While attending SCU I created a web page, click here for a link to that page.
