About Me...

My name is Amanda MacLean and I am currently studying Bachelor of Education-Primary Teaching at Charles Sturt University Dubbo.
I live in a small country town called Gulgong. The population is about 2000. I love the atmosphere of such a tiny town and everyone knows everyone. If you go up the street to get one thing you will be at least half an hour because you see people and everyone’s up for a chat.
I live with my parents and brother who has just turned 18 and loving it. I have a gorgeous little dog who is a Chihuahua and I am totally in love with. She is so cute and feisty she’s a tough little dog. We own a small property with sheep and goats…so yes im a bit of a country gal at heart.

After finishing Yr 12 I went to Armidale UNE, also studying primary teaching. I completed a year there and met great friends and had some fun times. I then decided to take some time off. While taking time off I have worked at;
- Gulgong Post Office, where I completed a retail traineeship
- Gulgong & Districts Real Estate- receptionist
- Oakfield Country Store & Café Inverness Mudgee- Bar staff
- Larsens Brasserie Gulgong- Waitress & Bar Staff, where I am still currently working
I greatly enjoyed all experiences at these jobs and feel they helped me mature and gain understanding of the workforce. Although having fun in all of these jobs they also helped me realize that what I really want to do is become a teacher.
Here I am now continuing my studies, closer to home and have already met some fantastic people here. I hope to finish my studies through Dubbo CSU, then teach in rural areas and larger areas. Cant wait for the fun times ahead!
