Effective teachers are expert in the art and science of teaching.
* Teachers have a wide knowledge of teaching techniques to be prepared for any student situation.
*Varying learning techniques are used to get the most and best out of the students.
* Teachers can use IT.
* Teachers make it obvious to students exactly what and how they are going to be taught.
A teacher should have a large source of teaching strategies that the students can draw from to be taught in the best way possible. This enables the students to get the most out of the teacher and the best out of themselves.
To develop this competency I will need to:
1) learn a range of previously used teaching techniques.
2) make sure I’m up to date with all new technologies.
3) have a number of lesson plans prepared for the same content employing different
strategies so that the best one can be chosen for any given situation.
4) write a brief layout of the lesson, including objectives, to orientate the
class.
Strengths and Weaknesses of this competency:
The strength of this competency is that you can be prepared for most classroom
situations. The weakness of this competency is that know matter how prepared
you are something you never contemplated could happen.

Currently I have a slight knowledge of teaching theories in EED112.
