Soccer Player Frustrated

This is my favourite sports page. On this page I will give a brief description of my favourite sports and how long I have been playing for. I hope that this web page may encourage people to get out and about, as regular excerise is essential.

Soccer

Me Playing Soccer

Please Note: My roomate kicked my soccer ball over the fence. So I had to digitally impose a soccer ball into this picture. This is why you may notice some difference in the resolution of the soccer ball in the photo. ;) My favourite sport to play is soccer. I have previously played outdoor soccer, but my main form of this sport is Indoor Soccer. I have been playing indoor soccer for 6 years now. Compared to outdoor soccer, the overall pace of the game is much faster, due to the fact that the field size is much smaller. Indoor soccer has a number of important rules such as:

The Height Rule
This rule is one of the most important rules of the game. Due to the fact that this game is more about skill and footwork, the ball must not be kicked any higher than one foot over a persons head.
Slide-Tackling
Due to the fact that this game is played on "Astro-Turf", slide tackling is not permitted as carpet burns are easily acheived by doing so.
No grabbing the net!
Players must not hold onto the net whilst playing. Not only will this damage the net. But it will also give the player an advantage, as most players use the net to maintain their balance during a tackle.

Backyard Cricket

Me Playing Backyard Cricket

For many years, Backyard Cricket has been one of the most wide spread games played. For people of all ages, a game of backyard cricket can provide hours of fun and entertainment for family and friends. All that is required to play backyard cricket is a SULO Bin, a tennis ball and a cheap cricket bat from the reject shop. It is generally recommended that a packet of 10 or more tennis balls are used, due to the fact that the majority of them will be hit over the fence, and usually no one could be bothered to climb over the fence to get them. There are 3 very important rules, which makes backyard cricket, what it has become today. These are:

Fence = 4
If the batter hits the ball and it makes contact with the fence, 4 runs is scored.
Over the fence = 6 and Out
If the batter hits the ball over the fence directly infront of he/she then 6 runs is scored, although,if the batter hits the ball over any other of the 3 fences (left, right and behind), then they are automatically out, but they still recieve 6 runs.
Hit and Run
When the batter hits the ball, they must run. There is no excuse. If they dont not, than the fielders or bowler may stump the batter.
