My collection is made up of many genres
| Fantasy |
Fantasy is definitely one of the main genres in my collection. I like it as a genre because it usually takes you to a place you know is impossible, but still like to believe it may be possible to visit anyway. |
| I have never been willing to let go of my inner child, so many of my books are actually books for children/young adults. Of course, working in a school library catering to students from ages 5 - 15, I am able to "justify" my indulgence by citing research for work, so I know what the kids are reading these days. I also like to hold onto these books for when my own children are old enough to read them. | |
| Usually when buying information books, I buy books on subjects that interest me and what I (believe) I enjoy doing. I have a few books on metaphysical topics, as well as many on herb gardening, though I haven't had a chance to create one of my own yet. I also have many textbooks purchased for Uni that I haven't been able to bring myself to throw away "just in case" I need them one day. | |
| Cookbooks | On a shelf, in my kitchen, where only a few get looked at and used regularly, but they are all absolutely necessary. It's nice to have a variety of options when the mood takes you to start cooking. |
| Chick Lit | This genre has been making an increasing appearance in my collection recently. With the extra heavy and serious reading I do for Uni studies lately, I find giving myself over to an easy to read, easy to follow and easy to lose yourself in novel is good for the brain, to air it out a bit. |
