The Rural Fire Service premises on the western outskirts of Young was the location of this year's family picnic day, held on Saturday 9 March 2013.

This year's meeting was brought forward by three weeks in order to coincide with the Lambing Flat Festival, which ended up being earlier than originally anticipated.

Family members gathered for morning tea at 10:00 am and the formal meeting commenced at 11:30 am.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Gail and Keith Butt had organised an excellent barbecue lunch onsite, which gave patrons plenty of time to relax and catch up with family members.

Afterwards there was time to enjoy the Lambing Flat Festival.

Later that evening, dinner had been organised at the Young Bowling Club in Lachlan Street. According to reports a good time was had by all.

Next year's gathering is scheduled to meet on Saturday 5 April 2014 in Wagga Wagga. Full details will be circulated prior to the event.
