I play with the Port City Club
Port City Hockey Club is Port Macquarie's oldest club and was founded in 1984.
It is as family club fielding teams from under 5's through to seniors in both the Men's
and Women's competitons as well as in the Mid North Coast premier league.
At Port City we play on the beach, we play on the side line, we even find time
to play on the field and sometimes win the odd game!
I get to play with my sons
Hockey is a sport that can be played by men and women as well as boys and girls of all ages.
There are few active team sports where fathers and sons can play in the same team and be competitive.
From time to time I get to play with my sons. Although they are both starting to get a bit better than me,
damn you father time!
Finally, I play for NSW
Finally after almost 40 years of trying I have made the NSW team. Granted its the over 45's rather
than the open's and I had to wait until I was the last crutiate ligament standing but a blue jersey is
a blue jersey! At the nationals this year we were one all with Queensland at full-time in the Grand Final
but lost in a penalty shoot-out (bummer).
