Today, there were two major collisions causing serious delays to traffic on Eastern Valley Way. Middle Cove.

The State Government proposes to remove a nearby speed camera based on questionable policy and despite an average speed on the bending stretch well in excess of the 60 km/hr speed limit.

The second collision today occurred around 2:30 pm and involved a red sports car and a sports utility vehicle. The 4WD ended with its nose in the bushland adjoining the road. The sports car is shown in the photo about to be towed away.

Ambulances were called to the scene but it is not known whether anyone was hurt.

I acknowledge the difficulty of transport policy in a fast-growing city but enforcement of speed limits will reduce deaths, injuries and the cost of lengthy commuting delays.

We need more speed enforcement, not less!
