As a teacher, one assumes a large number of roles under the one banner. To me, teaching is not just purely about imparting knowledge, but should also be reciprocal and have a greater influence on a student’s character and direction in life.

The role teachers play in the lives of young people is vital. As a person fulllfilling this role, I hope to have influence through instruction, encouragement and inspiration.

Research shows that good teaching matters. In this time of standards-based reform and with such a high expectation of students' education, teachers are the people who ensure that these standards are met. I can't think of many more important jobs than guiding the educational, moral and physical development of my future students.
