I have discovered that the process to becoming a proffesional teacher is not simple. There are many steps that need to be taken to meet the high standards that apply to gain entry into the teaching profession.

I have had many opportunities to observe this during my time on practicum surrounded by many experienced teachers. This exposure has helped me to develop an idea of what personal and professional qualities are required to become a quality teacher, not just qualified.

Prior to commencing studies at Charles Sturt University I completed a traineeship in Certificate III in Business Administration. Part of this training was cultural awareness, and the ability to communicate was strongly emphasised. I see this as being highly relevant to teaching, as not only does it promote a deeper understanding of different cultures, it also encouraged me to achieve a higher level of communication.

Other training includes the Child Protection Certificate, that I completed this year (2005). Click to view it.
