I own a 1975 mini clubman S, two mini mokes a 1976 and 1975. These cars were either given to me or cost me very little money. I am in the process of restoring them, but due to lack of time, money and plain just being lazy I haven’t got much done. The mini is what I am focusing on as I wish to get it registered so I can drive it. At the moment it is lacking an engine, I plan to rebuild one that I have for it. The car itself was a good purchase as it was cheap has ok looking paint, mag wheels and tinted windows. You may have seen minis before but mine is of the clubman verity which has a squared off looking front section, it is often disliked by the masses you still see a lot of them about (relatively speaking). I have been a ford man as long as I can remember. I think it gets passed on through the family as my dad is a ford man and so was his dad (although I am probably more interested in minis at the moment). I have always liked the older falcon models I particularly like are XP, XY and XB falcons I also like many others but those ones stand out in my mind. I also like some of the newer models. I am interested in the performance potential of the newer falcons especially the BA XR6 Turbo. I also like other ford cars such as cobras, mustangs, GT 40s and TX3 lasers. As I said before there are many others, most anything with a ford badge.
Lately (in the past few years) I have gained interest in Japanese cars as I have realized how good they can be (mostly superbly engineered). I wouldn’t say the movie “The fast and the furious” got me thinking this way but it did do that to a lot of other people though, you can tell them by the cars they drive and there complete lack of knowledge about cars. Don’t get me wrong though – I really want a Supra now (a fairly modified twin turbo one is pretty high up on my dream cars list……one day). I also have gained interest in the motor sport of drifting, which is rapidly growing in following. I believe CAMS are authorizing it as a motor sport in Australia. I have also come to like Nissan, Toyota, Subaru and Honda product more.
