Raspberry Pi Cluster
While browsing Engadget, I came across an article which covered some research being done at the University of Southampton where a father and son built the very first Raspberry Pi cluster.
Iridis-Pi is a 64-node cluster created using the Raspberry Pi and running the Debian Wheezy distribution.
I've now begun work on my own Raspberry Pi cluster, comprised of 4 devices running a distribution of Arch Linux that has been ported for ARM processors.
Arduino Robot
"Arudino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware and software." - http://www.arduino.cc
Because of this, many robot enthusiasts have turned to the Arduino and I am no exception. I am currently working on a robot which can use both sight and sound to move around an area.
Lego R2-D2
The Lego R2-D2 is by far the coolest edition to the Lego Star Wars collection. It's head can turn 360 degrees, it has a retractable third leg and the front panels open to reveal a universal computer interface arm and circular saw.
It also comes with a mini R2-D2 figurine and fact plaque!
Every item within the Lego Star Wars collection is worth owning. However, here is a list of the select few which are a must have for all Lego and Star Wars fans.
