Diagramming software is extremely important for information architects from a communication perspective. As Brown states, they allow information architects to communicate with clients visually and conceptually without giving them a concrete visual design which steps on the toes of the designer. The features of Creately are impressive, the ability to work collaboratively in real time and tag or comment certain sections is great from a team perspective, and information architects can walk clients through the design process and their reasoning.

The easy learning curve was forgiving, as I felt that diagramming software may be complex for unfamiliar users, but the drag and drop element was easy to use and there was very little complication. In terms of diagramming software a lot of these features may now be standard, but it was definitely a useful program and highly recommended.
