I live near the city of Adelaide in South Australia. There are a number of benefits of living in Adelaide:

• Close to the beach (only a 15 minute drive)
• The size and density of the city is not too large, so there are all the benefits of city life without the issue of over-crowding
• The people are friendly and down to earth. It is not unusual to bump into people you know when walking down the streets
• As there is less population, the traffic is not as busy as other capital cities, so although it can still get quite busy, it is relatively easy to travel through the city and metropolitan areas

I live approximately 10 minutes out of the city. I work directly in the city, so the commute to and from work is quite easy. There are a number of great pubs and eateries across Adelaide. I like to go there with work colleagues or on the weekend with friends.

In the warmer weather, I enjoy going to the beaches near Adelaide. The summers here are extremely hot (can reach 45 degrees) so it is great to spend the hotter days near the sea and spend some time in the sun.

There are a lot of festivals and events in Adelaide, particularly during the first few months of the year. Some of the main attractions each year are below.
