Our licorice tea contains actual liquorice root, as well as fennel seeds and oil, peppermint leaves and aniseed. Liquorice root naturally contains glycyrrhizin, a compound that is about fifty times sweeter than sucrose, so the tea satisfies any sweet craving! Liquorice is thought to promote the healing and relief of symptoms of mouth, gastric and intestinal ulcers.

Licorice tea and the root has been recommended as beneficial in the treatment of coughs, colds, and other bronchial irritations. With all of the cold and flu symptoms wreaking havoc recently, anything is worth a try! I certainly know this tea has served me well in recent weeks!
