Cross-curriculum
Integration
Cross-curriculum
integration is a basic principle of programming in the primary school.
The following works demonstrate my ability to apply this principle
within the primary school context.
Integrated
Creative Arts Project
As
part of Creative Arts 2, I was involved in the development
of an integrated creative arts performance, based upon the theme of ‘The
Five Chinese Elements’. Each of five tutorial groups,
were to plan, prepare and perform a creative production,
based upon one
element. This involved deciding upon key characters, developing
a plot, script, music and sound effects, dances, props and
costumes. The final performance involved
drawing the five groups together to create one large-scale production.
Through
participating in this project, I gained the skills and confidence
to undertake a similar project within the primary school.
I have developed
a range
of practical skills across all areas of creative arts (music,
dance, visual arts and drama) and have learnt the processes involved
in
creating a production from start to finish.
Integrated
Unit of Work - 'Express Yourself' (Stage 3).
This
is a complete music unit. It contains visual art, literacy and PDHPE
activities / links, which may be further developed during subsequent
lessons - Unit Overview.
