First Steps In-service (Reading)
This in-service focused upon strategies for developing student's reading skills. Factors contributing toward successful reading development were discusses, along with ideas for promoting reading within the classroom. Participants explored a range of reading activities, which may be applied within a K-6 setting. I was fortunate to be able to participate in this in-service, during my first practicum placement session. The in-service enhanced my understanding of issues surrounding reading development and provided useful ideas for teaching.
