About Workplace Learning
Workplace learning, also known as work-integrated
learning, practicums and
professional practice, professional experience, internships, intra-mural
and extra-mural placements, fieldwork and clinical placements, allows
students to learn through direct implementation of their professional
roles in real workplace settings. Workplaces may encompass on-campus and
off-campus facilities. Commonly such learning involves supervision to
provide safeguards and ensure duty of care towards clients and students.

Online Workplace Learning Module
EFPI has developed an online module entitled Workplace Learning: An Online Course
for WPL Personnel. The purpose of this course is to provide WPL
educators (supervisors, mentors etc) with information and insights into
the many aspects of WPL, including: ‘Foundations of WPL at CSU’, ‘Roles
and Responsibilities in WPL’, ‘Education in WPL’ and ‘Phases in WPL’. The
first module of this course ‘Foundations of WPL at CSU’ is now
available to be accessed here.
