Biography

Well my full name is Glenn Robert Ziliotto, and I was born on Sunday 1st July 1984 at Liverpool Base Hospital at 4:00pm.

I was to be raised by my grandmother Peggy Ziliotto and we lived in Minto until I was four years old. It was near the railway station, and I can still remember very clearly the trains going by what seemed every 15 - 20 minutes or so. It was in 1989 that we then moved to what I refer to as my home town, Griffith. My parents had been born their, as had my grandparents.

I attended Griffith North Primary School from 1990 to 1993, when we moved from our North Griffith home to East Griffith and, due to zoneing rules, had to begin attending East Griffith Primary School from 1993 to 1994.

On December 23rd, 1994, I said goodbye to me East Griffith home and to Griffith as a whole, as we left to take up residence in Wagga Wagga (my current home). In 1995 - 1996 I attended Mt. Austin Primary School, my year 6 teacher being Mr Rogers. Between 1997 and 2002 I attended Mt. Austin High School, graduating with my H.S.C and Board Of Studies Certificate II in Information Technology in 2002, our liason officer from year 7 to 12 had been Miss Wendy Dennis.

I began attending CSU Wagga Wagga in February 2003, enrolled in a double degree of Science and Information Technology. However, due to family issues I was forced to leave well before the mid-session break.

After I had resolved the family issues somewhat, I decided to fill in time by going to RIT (Riverina Institute Of TAFE, Wagga Wagga Campus) and doing a Certificate IV in Information Technology: Technical Support. I found this course very interesting and achieved higher than average grades. The course was closed at the end of 2003 however due to lack of student numbers. In the beginning of 2004 I enrolled in a Diploma Of Information Technology: Network Engineering at RIT, but do to financial issues cancelled my enrollment before the course began.

Yet more family problems were to plague my life until the beginning of this year (2005). I re-enrolled into the following subjects:

  • ITC161: Introduction To Information Technology.
  • ITC125: The Information Superhighway.
  • ITC114: Database Management.

I found that the only subjects I liked were ITC125 and ITC114, ITC161 was very boring and repetitive. Anyway, as was the norm with my after High School life I ran into more family and financial issues that saw me leave University once more and take up the position of Senior Technician at AAEC: Computers And Comms (AAEC). AAEC is a small computer company in Simmons Street that does work for such companies as Coca-Cola Amital, the Wagga Wagga City Council, Precision Signs, the Price Of Wales Motor Inn, Country Comfort, IUG, BCA IT and United Electrical (which is contract work for the ANZ Bank).

I have decided to give Univeristy one more shot. My goal is to one day be a fully qualified Network Engineer and be working for a highly respectable national or multi-national business (an example of each would be the Commonwealth Bank or Big W).
