Basics of bass!

tabs or tablature is a way of reading music on guitar and bass. it uses a little chart of the bass strings and fret refrences using numbers on the chart afor example

this means you play open, fouth fret, fith fret and second fret on the E string. tabs can also show the techniques you use to play the notes

h - hammer on
p - pull off
/ - slide up
\ - slide down
b - bend string
r - release bend
~ - vibrato
t - right hand tap
x - play 'note' with heavy damping

tabs a really useful when you hear a song and wann learn how to play it but can't read sheet music. then all you need to do is go to one of the bass tab sites linked below.
