Curriulum and Knowledge

Curriculum is
• The expectations about roles/tasks undertaken by persons to achieve certain goals or standards.
• That which is taught in school
• A set of subjects
• Content
• A set of materials
• A set of performance objectives for student learning at a variety of learning sites.
• That which an individual learner experiences as a result of schooling.
• Everything that is planned by school personnel.

The syllabus document is a summery statement about what is to be taught in a course or unit, a curriculum includes more then this. How you teach your content can drastically affect what is taught and how well students ‘soak in’ the information being given. (Marsh 2004)

Knowledge is everything we know. We can have theoretical and practical knowledge. There is knowledge that is obtained in the classroom and knowledge obtained in the playground with friends. The aim of a teacher is to help children to obtain as much knowledge as they can while they are at school. After all knowledge is the most powerful tool of all.

Evidence - Matsh Investigation Powerpoint Presentaion

Evidence - Workplace Learning Certificate

Justification - I included this Workplace Learning Certificate in my e-portfolio as it shows that I have worked with children before. While working for those two weeks I was able to watch children and understand the way in which they grow learn and obtain knowledge.
