Becoming a professional

This semester has taught me a lot about what it means to be a teacher. I have learned, from prac that a teacher needs to be organised, flexible, have a sense of humour and a lot of energy. To me a teacher not just someone who teaches children. A teacher allows children to feel free to explore, learn and grow in a safe environment where it is okay to make mistakes. Teachers don’t only teach Maths, Science and English but life skills, morals and values such as honesty, trust, determination and humility. When I am a fully fledged teacher I hope that my classroom will be a fun and welcoming environment to all children and their parents

Evidence - First Aid Certificate

Justification - I included this document in my e-portfolio to demonstrate that I posses skills in first aid. It is important to know basic first aid skills as a teacher so that if there is an emergency you can act quickly.

Evidence - Child Protection Certificte

Justification - I included this document in my e-portfolio to demonstrate that I understand what is appropriate and inappropriate when working with children. This is important as people working in close proximity with children everyday should have their best interests at heart.
