Creating a Graph

1. Make sure the table of information you want to graph is accurate.

Highlight (by holding and dragging) what you want to graph.


2. Select the Chart Wizard from your toolbar

3. Select the type of graph.
Select COLUMN graph by clicking once on COLUMN.

Click next.

4. You can see the graph has been drawn.
Look at the information in the table and make sure that the way the graph has been drawn is correct.

Click next.

5. Now you must title the graph and label each axis.
The chart title is…..
TYPE OF FOOD PREFERRED BY UNI STUDENTS
The X axis is the horizontal axis. The X axis represent the food type….
FOOD TYPE
The Y axis is the vertical axis. The Y axis represents the number of students….
NUMBER OF STUDENTS

Click next.

6. The next step of the process is deciding where you want the finished graph placed.
You have a choice of placing it away from the table of information in a new sheet or you can choose to place it near your table of information, by selecting As object in: Sheet 1.
Sheet 1 is where you original table is. Place your graph there.

Click Finish.

 

7. Now check the graph.
The label Series 1 is not needed on this graph. You can delete it by clicking on it and pressing delete.
