Pedagogy is the term used for teaching, coaching and instructing a field or discipline. During my career pedagogy will relate to physical education in schools. In order to be able to teach this discipline I have to first learn how to teach. To learn how to teach I have to understand the different tools used in the teaching process. Currently I am learning tools like the teaching/learning cycle and the use of zone of proximal development. Learning tools like these will give me a better understanding of how pedagogy can be implemented in the class room and how different techniques can be used for different groups of students. I am looking forward to becoming a insider of the Pedagogy and Assessment Discourse Community. Evidence 1. EED112 Essay Plan Power point Presentation proves that I have an understanding of pedagogy as it outlines my understanding of tools used in the teaching process. 2. During my life I have coached a number of hockey teams including Marist C Grade Junior side, Esquires B Grade Girls side and an U/14's Representative side. As Pedagogy is coaching this is very relevant to this subject. Many tools used to coach these sides are based on the principles I am now learning about. For example when developing students skills in hockey I used the teaching learning cycle without even knowing it.
