I was born in Victoria, some say this makes me a Mexican! I turned 30 this year and celebrated on the Gold Coast for a week with my family. I have been in the Air Force for 10 years, firstly as a Clerk then I remustered to a Communications and Informations System Controller. Being in the Defence Force has given me a lot of opportunities to travel and do courses and also helps with Uni fees (which is awesome!). Here are the places I've been posted to since I joined in 2002.
Here are some pics of me on the job.
I like to travel whenever I can. Here are "some" of the places I've travelled to:
| Country | Year |
|---|---|
| Malaysia | 2003 |
| Malta (click here!) | 2008 |
| Thailand, Singapore | 2010 |
| Laos, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Macau | 2011 |
Music
I love to listen to music. This is a song that I really like at the moment: Ben Howard - Old Pine on Youtube
Hiking
In 2010 I climbed Mt Kinabalu in Borneo, Malaysia. It was a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget. The day we arrived we climbed for about 5 hours to get to the hut where we were staying for a rest. At 2am the next morning we set off again for another few hours to get to the top. It was pitch black so we were all wearing head lamps, it was also freezing so we were quite rugged up. At about 6am we reached the top and were rewarded with a spectacular view of the sunrise coming over the mountain views. We then had to climb down via ferrata, which was incredibly scary at times. We reached the bottom at about 5pm, and were absolultey wrecked! Take a look at my certificates: Kinabalu Park Guiness World Records
I have been fortunate enough to be posted to Malaysia for 3 years. I moved over here in Jan 2010. I live in a massive apartment for one person. It has 3 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. I have a balcony that looks over the sea. Some of my favourite things about living here are the food, the low cost of living, and how easy it is to travel around Asia from here. Some of the things I don't like are the traffic, the smells of the drains and the ants!
