A Little About Me
I developed an interest in computers at around the age of 8. While everyone else was getting a Commodore64 in the early 80's, my family purchased a Texas Instruments TI-99/4A. I still remember loading games by cartridge and typing out simple programs that could not be saved so they disappeared each time the computer was turned off. My interest in computers continued throughout school. I have always enjoyed pulling things apart and putting them back together and I have built my last three computers systems over the last 10 years.
After finishing high school I attended the Australian National University (ANU) to study a Bachelor of Commerce. After leaving ANU I worked in a variety of jobs in customer service. I ended up in the Club industry working my way up managing the Club, Restaurant and Poker Machines.
After working for around ten years I took some time off to have a family. Once my children were in school I had to really sit down and think about what I wanted to do when I 'grew up'. I decided I wanted a change of direction and returned to study to refresh my skills and figure out what was going to be the next step.
Studying business helped me rediscover my interest in computers and I decided that I wanted to learn more. I enrolled in CSU's Bachelor of Information Technology, beginning study in 2014. Studying by distance has allowed me to study at the times I am available while still raising a young family. Next year my eldest will be starting high school and I will be in my final year of study.
