I have many hobbies that keep me busy. When I was in high school, I used to swim a lot and I was my school’s champion in years 8, 9 and 10 but because of an arm injury, I had to take some time off from swimming and then came the HSC, so without realizing it, I completely stopped competitive swimming. Below are the awards I have won in swimming. As you can see, I'm quite talented (and modest too!)
In order to forget about swimming, my parents bought me a camera for my birthday and that is how I got hooked on my first hobby, Photography. Whenever I had free time from school, I would be photographing anything and anyone that came my way! I will never forget the first time I had my photos developed! Such joy and excitement! I was addicted to photography and there were times that I slept with my camera under my pillow!
Photography helped me explore my creative and artistic side. At some point I even considered doing photography as a career but I never pursued it to the extent you would when you desire something very much. Although you need to be gifted and talented in order to succeed in photography, formal training is important and it’s something that I don’t possess as yet, but plan on attaining in the near future.
I have found some wonderful sites on the internet that have a lot of information on how to take good photographs.One of my favourite sites is livingroom.org and photographytips. Both sites have lots of tips on how to take good photos, whether you are using digital or film medium as well as describe the various equipment available on the market such as cameras.
As addicted as I was and still am with photography, I do have other interests. Going to the Movies and allowing myself to be swept off into a world of make-belief is an enjoyable experience. I love all types of films, but comedies and adventures are my favourite. One day I would like to visit Hollywood and maybe bump into some of my favourite actors. Till then, my friend Olga and I are taking acting classes with the hope of becoming great and famous actors one day….
