Fishing would have to be on of my favourite things to do. I prefer saltwater to freshwater, don't know
why, freshwater fishing just seems boring to me. And my favourite place to fish would be Greenwell Point,
on the Central coast.
There are a couple of ramps here which give access to this lower end of the river system and there is shore
access around the pool next to the wharf. Fishing is also possible off the Greenwell Point jetty, where
flathead, bream, blackfish, mullet and whiting are common catches. Good baits include prawns(i use green)
whitehead, and baby slimeys cut up. For blackfish weed and bloodworms work a treat(and sometimes prawns if you peel
them).
I use a running sinker rig both off the wharf and out of the boat. Generally, a number two sinker, swivel and a
long shank hook(size varies depending on the size of fish you are targeting). I use 6 pound fireline with a twelve
pound mono trace.
Check out the video below for some flathead fishing in action.
