Teaching philosophy

Becoming a PD/H/PE teacher has been a goal, passion and priority of mine for some time. This is primarily due to my vivid interest and passion for sports, exercise and teaching. The importance of pedagogy as the art and practice of teaching must be emphasised. Teaching is an art that must be acquired and developed. A teacher must be an effective leader and role model. An efficient teacher should be responsive and respectful to students and colleagues and possess good communication skills.
In this role of employment it is necessary to have many of these key attributes to be successful (Weinberg & Gould 2003).

'He who dares to teach must
never cease to learn'
(John Dana Cotton)

My first and most important goal is the successful completion of my degree, this comes before everything else. This goal is one I must accomplish to follow my ambition to become a qualified, successful and enthusiastic teacher. My foremost goal as a teacher is to promote above all effort and participation in my students. Pd/H/Pe is a very important subject as it provides one with the fundamentals of how to achieve and lead/live a healthy lifestyle. Whilst this is in progress however, i also want to maximise the enjoyment of my time at university.
