There are a number of volunteering organisations around Australia that advertise and assist people in finding the right kind of activity for them.
Volunteering
Australia is a great place to start. Use the search function to view
all job opportunities in your area. If you
decide to work in a nursing home environment, you will need to apply for a
police criminal history check with the Community
Visitors Scheme. This is
a Federal Government initiative providing free checks for all volunteers
to provide a safer environment for volunteers and
residents. Check
your local government websites for information on programs in your
area.
