My name is Ryan Walters (if you hadn't picked it already); I'm currently 19 years old and studying at Charles Sturt University to get a degree in computer science. But of course if you read the first page you know this already, so let's get to the juicy stuff.
BUT WAIT! where to start? My life has been somewhat of a random conglomerate of idiocy and falling down, so where do I start? Well I am just going to start with the best thing I've ever done (by my reckoning).
Undoubtedly some people won't believe me when I say I was on an Australian Sports team, but hey, it's true, so anyone who doesn't believe can ki-... guess I shouldn't say that sort of thing on this site, sorry markers!
Anyway, I was on the Australian junior team for Archery when I was 14, whilst on the team I participated in the Trans-Tasman challenge, an event where the best archers in Australia face off against the best archers in New Zealand. The short and sweet of it is we won. But you don't just get onto the Australian team; it takes time and effort to get there.
I started shooting in 2001, and participated in my first nationals (nation wide archery competition) in 2003. However my greatest success came in the 2004 nationals, where I won silver in the target round, gold in field and gold in clout. In the target round of this competition I shot the best score I have ever shot, 1365/1440. I don't know how familiar you are with archery, but that is a damn good score, especially because I forgot to shoot one arrow. After this event I was offered a place on the Australian team, and I took it. After my time with the team I gradually stopped shooting, this was due to many reasons, but mainly because I didn't have the time to train as much as I used to.
There really isn't much else to me other than my one time grand past; I'm interested in Games, Computers, Books and Technology. And one day hope to have my own game development studio, I now that's a big thing, but hey, what's the point of trying if you aren't aiming high?
