All About Me.....

I might be biased, but my best achievement to date is my sixteen month old son, Riley James Hurford. In fact, he was the inspiration that led me to return to university, and undertake the double degree (Primary and Psychology) at Charles Stuart University. I am currently in my first year, and am looking forward to the beginning of a new and rewarding career within the education system.

In the past, I have worked in the hospitality and retail industries, but I now feel that I can contribute more as a teacher, and also spend quality time with my son. I feel that I will prove to be a competent teacher, and know I will enjoy it, as I love children, and am dedicated to providing them with the best chance I can to achieve all that they can from the education system.

Among my many hobbies and pastimes is a love of sports, especially horse sports such as the true-blue all Australian horse sport known as Polo crosse (not to be confused with polo!), a pastime which I fully intend to introduce my son to when he is older.

I enjoy reading and spending time with family and friends, and like to become involved in community events and volunteer services to such worthwhile causes as Camp Quality and Riding for the Disabled. I have completed my first-aid course (although an update may be required!), and numerous self-improvement courses, such as the OTEN public speaking course.
