The Pokemon franchise was started with two video games, red and green, that were released in 1996 by Nintendo in Japan. Since this time 18 games have been released world wide as well as 2 more scheduled for 2012. There has also been numerous spin off games released on various different platfroms,
including;
- The Trading Card Game
- Pokemon Snap on the Nintendo 64
- Pokemon channel on the Nintendo Gamecube
- The Mystery Dungeon series on the Nintendo DS
- And over 50 other Game
Many glitches are presant in the Pokemon games and the series has become well known to have functional and exciting "glitches", and players often exploit these to gain special Pokemon that cannot be obtain easily in another way.

Red and Blue

The first two games of the pokemon franchise, they feature 151 Pokemon from the Kanto region which can be caught by the player. The player must travel through the region, train their Pokemon, acquire 8 gym badges by beating the gym leaders, and finally travel to the elite four. The elite four are
located on the indego platau to the west of the region, and once they are beaten, including a fifth opponent, the player has beatent the game.

Yellow

This game follow the same design as Red and Blue, with a few minor location changes and other adjustments. The player is also only able to choose from 1 starting Pokemon, Pikachu, meaning every player started with the same pokemon. This game was adapted to closely follow the story
of the Anime and the actions of the Animes protagonist, Ash Ketchum.
