Apollo's Thoroughbreds Ltd
Apollo Thoroughbreds is a horse sales agent that provides advertisements of the latest thoroughbreds,
as both yearlings and stallions. The company aims to provide thoroughbred buyers with the most
durable and well bred horses all in one place to view and if interested, contact the buyers of the
horses also.
About Apollo's Thoroughbreds
Apollo's Thorougbreds has been in operation for over 20 years being a horse farm
in itself based on 700acres in the Hunter Valley, has over 20 horses that board
and are residents of the property. Though Apollo's Thoroughbreds does not own
any thoroughbreds on our vast property we still act as an agent for those who
are selling both their foals, racehorses and also other disciplinary breeds.
In the 1900s the farm was established by Sir Charles Deewin who was given a horse by
his father. This horse who was affectionately known as Carlos was a 13 year old
thoroughbred and though unraced, was Deewin's inspiration for starting a horse business.
Deewin's property grew to over 1000 acres being home to both racehorses and broodmares
for a long 5 years. At the beginning of the 21st century Deewin became unwell and
developed lung cancer being diagnosed with only a year left to live. The property
was passed down to his eldest son Matthew Deewin who took little interest in the property
but maintained it whilst his dad lived through his last year of life. After Deewin's
death Matthew sold the farm to an investor who used it as a hobby farm for his daughter.
Today Apollo's Thoroughbreds is still owned and run by the investor; Tim Duggans.
The farm has now developed into a boarding facility for horses whilst Duggans also
uses the land to buy and sell thoroughbreds in hope of making a profit.
The Sales
- Foals
Each year foals from the thoroughbred breed are posted having racing bloodlines
that are well known to Australia. Well known bloodlines include those that
relate to superstar gallopers such as Makybe Diva, Black Caviar as well as many
otherfamous mares and stallions.

- Lohnro X
- Northern Dancer X
- Mixed Sales
For those breeders that take interest in other breeds and not thoroughbreds, this
category provides a magazine of all registered horses on offer that have little or
no thoroughbred bloodlines in them.

- 3 day eventers
- Show Jumpers
- Pleasure horses
- Ponies
- Racehorses
Includes all horses that have raced some time in their life as both winners and horses
soon to be retired to stud. All horses are purebred thoroughbreds with varying bloodlines
being both Australian and overseas born.

- Dirt track runners
- Grass track runners
- Sprinters and Mile runners
