User friendliness and user help features evaluation

User friendly and user help features include the capacity of the software to:

  • provide users with user friendly and effective help and training documentation
  • provide users with an simple, intuitive and user friendly interface

Term Tree 2000

The Dog's star rating:

Term Tree offers comprehensive help is provided through the help menu and through the user training manual available on the TermTree website.

Although its graphical interface shows signs of being out of date, it is relatively intuitive and easy to use in comparison to the TCS-10 interface.

MultiTes Pro

The Dog says: "Congratulations - it's a dogonomy!"

The MultiTes help menu includes a compehensive and searchable list of features and includes a series of tutorials for new users which are available on the MultiTes website.

For its simple and intuitive interface and import/export menus, MultiTes wins over the other packages on user friendliness.

Webchoir TCS-10

The Dog's star rating:

TCS-10 like the other packages, includes a standard help file which can be downloaded from the Webchoir website. The help menu in the trial version links to includes a standard searchable help file in text format which does not integrate with the trial version. The trial version has instead a help file in html format which is not searchable.

Despite the sophisticated features of the software, it does not lend itself to rapid adoption by new users and is not particularly user friendly in its editing and importing function. For this reason TCS-10 falls behind the other packages on user friendliness.
