XHTML Web Page
As Part of the course requirements for ITC105 (Communication & Information Management) we were required to create a web page to be placed on the CSU web server using Strict DTD. This website required that we create a website valid in XHTML, hence the logo below(in the footer), and in conjuction use CSS or Cascading Style Sheets to design our pages. My websites main purpose is to introduce myself to anyone who is interested in finding out about me. ALL of our pages are required to be validated through the services of W3C Validator to ensure accurate Strict DTD use.
We are also required as part of this assessment to create a powerpoint presentation to present to the class and provide a link to it on our homepage. The link below will take you to this presentation:
The output of running this webpage through the validation site has been provided as a screenshot below as well as the logo in the footer being presented as mentioned previously. Note: This may take a little time to open
What is XHTML?
XHTML is short for EXtensible Hypertext Markup Language which describes structure of text-based documents. eg.
XHTML is usable in 3 different structures:
- Strict - "no layout information is included, the recommended way to implement pages" (XHTML,2001)
- Transitional - "includes support for older, visual elements, which are deprecated" (XHTML,2001)
- Frameset - "includes support for frames, sub-areas on a single site with parallel display of pages" (XHTML,2001)
